An Open Day for our new incoming Junior Infant pupils will be held on Thursday June 1st 2023. We look forward to seeing you and your son between 1:45pm and 2:15pm on the day. Members of staff will be delighted to answer any questions you may have, and the boys will get a chance to familiarise themselves with the environment before September. We will contact you all with more details closer to the date.

Please take note of the following upcoming dates for school closures on the May bank holiday weekend:

School will be closed on Friday April 28th (Staff Primary Language Curriculum Training Day)

School will be closed on Monday 1st May 2023 (Bank Holiday) & Tuesday 2nd May 2023

Pupils will return to school on Wednesday 3rd May.

Glasheen BNS will be closed for Easter Holidays from Friday 31st March until Monday 17th April. School will close on Friday 31st at 12pm.

Junior and Senior Infant classes will leave at 11:45am on that day.

First and Second Classes will leave at 11:55am.

Third to Sixth Classes will leave at 12:00pm.

A reminder will be resent closer to the date.

Glasheen BNS Parents Association will be holding a quiz night in Flannerys Bar on Friday March 24th. This has always been a great night in our school calendar and all are welcome to attend! Doors open at 7:30 and the Quiz will start at 8pm! We look forward to seeing you there.

Glasheen BNS will close early on Friday March 3rd to facilitate staff primary language curriculum training.

The boys of Glasheen BNS will be doing a charity walk this Friday February 24th to raise money for those affected by the terrible earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Any funds you could donate would be greatly appreciated. Teachers will be collecting donations from Wednesday 22nd to Friday 24th. Thank you all for your continued support.

Our parents association are running a movie night here in Glasheen BNS on Friday Evening from 6:30pm – 8:15pm. Why not enjoy a fun time with your friends watching a Friday night film! Tickets are available from Sheila at the office for €5 each. We will be showing three different movies – Screen 1: Incredibles 2, Screen2: Mitchells vs Machines, Screen 3: Captain America. We look forward to seeing you there!

Glasheen BNS will be closed on the following dates in February:

Monday 6th February for the bank holiday.

Thursday 16th and Friday 17th February for Mid-Term Break.

School will reopen on Thursday January 5th. Gates will open at the usual time of 8:30am, with classes beginning at 8:50am. We look forward to seeing you all then.

All afterschool clubs will finish up on Friday 16th December. Clubs will resume in the new year. Details will be published at a later date.
